Running Tasks
Task modes
Choose a mode for a task and see what each mode needs.
A mode is what a task does. There are three. The picker only shows the modes your group's retailer and region support.
| Mode | What it does | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Gen | Generates new accounts. | Nothing is needed to create it. To run, it needs an email source, plus an OTP inbox if the flow reads an email code. |
| Add sms | Adds a number to accounts that already exist. | An account group, an SMS provider and an OTP inbox. It logs in with an email OTP. |
| Enter raffle | Signs accounts up for a drop, lottery or priority-access queue. | An account group, the drop URL, an OTP inbox and a proxy list. |
In the task list, the Mode column shows Gen, Add SMS or Enter Raffle.
When you click Create, AETHER checks the mode's requirements in order. It shows the first one that fails, in the mode's own words, such as Add-SMS logs in with an email OTP — attach an OTP inbox under Settings.
Fix it and click Create again. If another requirement is missing, it shows next.
Generate accounts#
Gen is the default mode. It signs up new accounts and files each one into an account group named after the task group.
AETHER creates a gen task even with nothing filled in, so missing pieces only show up when it runs. A missing OTP inbox stops the task, and the status depends on the store:
- Amazon ends on NO OTP INBOX ATTACHED. It reads the code from an IMAP or AYCD inbox set on the task.
- Target stops on STOPPED : NO IMAP INBOX only when no IMAP mailbox is saved under Settings → IMAP. If one is saved, the task uses it. An AYCD inbox set on the task is not read.
- Riot stops on STOPPED : NO OTP INBOX unless an IMAP inbox is set on the task. AYCD does not work for Riot.
- Premium Bandai stops on STOPPED : NO OTP SOURCE unless an IMAP or AYCD inbox is set on the task. It checks the SMS provider first. With none picked on the task and no NoServer key saved, it stops on STOPPED : SMS PROVIDER REQUIRED instead.
- Walmart CA gen needs no inbox while SMS mode is off, which is the default.
Retrying does not help, because the task still has no inbox.
On Walmart CA, the gen form has an SMS mode switch. Off is the default and makes SMSless accounts. On verifies each account with a rented number at signup.
The gen form has no option to add a number after the account is made. To add one to accounts that already exist, create an Add sms task.
For what each store's gen needs, see its module page.
Add a number to existing accounts#
Add sms works on accounts that already exist. It logs each one in with an email OTP. Then it checks whether the account already has a number, and attaches one if it does not.
Create refuses an Add sms task without an account group or an OTP inbox. It also refuses a group that is empty, or one where no account has a saved password.
It does not check the SMS provider. With none saved, the picker reads No SMS provider saved — add one under Settings → SMS, and the tasks are still created. They stop when you start them. Save a provider first.
A number is rented only after the login succeeds. A task that ends on LOGIN BLOCKED (PX) or NO LOGIN CODE has spent no money. An account that already has a number ends on ALREADY SMS VERIFIED, and no number is rented.
A later run skips accounts that an earlier run already resolved, whether a number was added or one was already there. Tick Re-check accounts a previous run already resolved to include them.
If every account is already resolved, Create is refused with Every account in that group already has SMS — nothing to do (tick Recheck to run them anyway).
Enter a raffle#
Enter raffle signs accounts up for a drop, lottery or priority-access queue. Each row is one account.
Create asks only for an account group and the drop URL, which is the page an account enters through. Only accounts with a saved password get a task. If none in the group has one, Create is refused.
The form marks the inbox OTP inbox (optional), but the task needs one to run. Without it, the task ends on RAFFLE FAILED.
It also needs proxies. An empty proxy list or Localhost — this PC's IP, no proxy ends the task on RAFFLE FAILED too.
The status pill shows each stage in turn: logging in, loading the drop page, solving the drop's captcha, entering, and confirming by email. It ends on ENTERED.
ALREADY ENTERED also counts as a success. If the retailer says the account is already in the drop, AETHER takes its word and does not try to enter it again.
