Running Tasks

Running tasks

Create a group of tasks, start it and read what each task is doing.

A group is a batch, and each task is one row in that batch.

Run a group#

A task can only run once what it draws on exists. Set these up before you start.

  • An OTP inbox, if the task's flow reads an email code.
  • An account group, if the mode works on accounts you already have.

A proxy list is optional. Pick Localhost — this PC's IP, no proxy in the task's proxy picker and the task runs from this machine's IP.

Setup covers each one.

  1. Create a group

Name it and pick the retailer tile. Tiles for retailers with more than one region turn over so you can choose one.
  2. Add tasks to the group

Pick a mode if the retailer has more than one. Pick a proxy list or Localhost, then whatever else the mode needs. If something required is missing, AETHER refuses the task and tells you what.
  3. Click Start

It is the play icon in the cluster of icon buttons at the right end of the search row, just after the + icon (Create task). The counters on the group card move as the batch runs. Each counter also works as a filter on the table. Add sms tasks sign in to their accounts as they start, so those rows read LOGGING IN first.

Groups and tasks#

  • A group is a batch. You choose its retailer and region when you create it, and you cannot change them later. They decide which modes its tasks can use.
  • A task is one unit of work in one mode. It generates an account, attaches a number to an account you already have, or enters a raffle.

The Start, Stop, Edit and Delete buttons sit at the right end of the search row. They show only icons. Hover over one to see its name.

  • With a group selected, they act on every task in that group.
  • With no group selected, the table title reads All tasks. Start, Stop and Delete then act on every task in every group.
  • Edit never acts across every group. With All tasks showing, it switches to your newest group, says so in a toast, and edits only that group.
  • Tick some rows first and they act only on the rows you ticked.

The Status column shows the last thing each row reported. Its colour tells you the state.
