Running Tasks

Edit All

Change a field across a whole group of tasks at once.

Edit a group of tasks#

  1. Tick the rows to edit, or tick none

With no rows ticked, the edit applies to every task of the chosen mode in the selected group. Tick rows to edit only those.
  2. Open Edit All and check the mode

In the task toolbar, click the pencil icon. Its tooltip reads Edit. The Edit All Tasks dialog opens on Gen if the retailer has it. To edit another mode, click its pill, such as Add sms. Only tasks of that mode change. A retailer with one mode shows no pills.
  3. Fill in only the fields you want to change

Leave the rest as they open. In Gen mode, leave Profiles * empty. Edit All does not read it.
  4. Click the main button

It reads Apply to all when the dialog opens, then changes to Create once the Gen form loads. Either way, it only edits tasks. AETHER shows how many tasks it updated, like Updated 40 gen tasks. To change only running and armed tasks, click Apply now (running + armed) instead.

If the count is lower than you expected, check the mode. Tasks of another mode in the same group are not included.

If you apply with every field blank, nothing is saved and you see Nothing changed — set at least one field to apply. Ticking rows only picks which tasks to edit. It does not count as a change.

Blank fields stay unchanged#

Proxy List opens on — leave unchanged —. Fixed password shows leave unchanged as its placeholder. OTP source opens on — default (built-in mailbox) —, which also leaves the inbox as it is. Only a value you enter counts as a change.

This lets you set a proxy list on 500 tasks without overwriting the inbox or password they already have. On a Walmart CA group, the SMS settings are the exception. See the next section.

Apart from the Localhost proxy option and the Add SMS after gen · costs money box, Edit All cannot empty or turn off a field. Deleting the text in a box does nothing. To remove an inbox from a task, use the pencil edit on that task and set OTP source back to its first option. The pencil edit saves exactly what is in each box, including an empty one.

Fields you can change#

What Edit All writes depends on the mode you pick.

ModeFields Edit All applies
GenProxy List, OTP source and Fixed password. On Walmart CA, gen needs no inbox, so OTP source is hidden. Walmart also has the SMS fields below.
Add smsProxy List only. Account group *, SMS provider *, Number type and OTP inbox * are not read.
Enter raffleProxy List only. Drop URL * and the other raffle fields are not read.

On a Walmart CA group in Gen mode, Edit All also applies Add SMS after gen · costs money. Tick it to turn the after-gen SMS step on for every task in scope. Tick it and untick it to turn the step off on every task in scope. Edit All does not apply the SMS mode switch.

Every Apply on a Walmart CA group also writes the Number type from the box that Add SMS after gen · costs money opens, even when it is hidden. If you have an SMS provider saved, it writes the SMS provider too. Both open on the first entry in their list, not on — leave unchanged —. So an edit that only sets a proxy list still rewrites them on every task in scope, in Add sms mode as well.

Before you apply in Gen mode, tick Add SMS after gen · costs money to show both, and set them to what the tasks should use. Then leave the box ticked or unticked the way the tasks should run. See SMS providers.

When a change takes effect#

A running task reads its proxy list, OTP source and password once, when it starts. Edit All saves a change right away, but a running task keeps its old values until it restarts.

Apply now (running + armed)Running and armed tasks in the group, or the ticked rows, of every mode.Proxy List, OTP source and Fixed password only.

To make a new proxy list live on tasks that are already running, stop those rows and start them again.

Apply now (running + armed) does not stop or restart anything. It ignores the mode you picked. With no rows ticked, it changes every running or armed task in the group, of any mode. Armed tasks are waiting to start, such as QUEUED ones.

It then reports what it did, like Live edit: 0 live, 180 on next start, 12 skipped. A task counts as live when its password changed, and as on next start when its proxy list or OTP source changed. Either way, a running task keeps its old values until it restarts.

skipped counts tasks, not fields. It is the number of tasks in scope that are neither running nor armed, such as stopped, done or failed ones. Apply now leaves those tasks as they are.
