Setup
SMS providers
Add your SMS provider and choose the right number pool for each task.
The add-SMS mode attaches a phone number to an account that already exists. A few gen flows also verify by text. You rent these numbers from your own provider account, and your provider charges you for each code it delivers. AETHER comes with no provider and never bills you.
Add a provider#
Open Settings → SMS and click Add a provider
The add form opens in a drawer.Pick your provider and paste its API key
The tiles for NoServer, WealthSMS, Hero SMS, SMSPVA, Secure.io and 5sim set the right endpoint for that provider. The Custom tile takes any provider in the AYCD Custom SMS Schema format.Name it and save
The label is required, and it is what you pick on a task. If you have two keys with the same provider, name each record after its account.
With Custom, drop or paste the .json schema. AETHER asks only for the credentials that file declares. A schema never contains a key, so these files are safe to share.
Each record holds a label, an API key and an endpoint. Saved records appear under Configured with their provider, service and endpoint, and whether a key is set. AETHER never sends the key itself back to the page.
Test shows your balance, for example ✓ $12.40, or ⚠ $0.00 when it is empty. It rents no number, so a test costs nothing. For NoServer and WealthSMS, hover the result to see the current price per code.
SMSPVA cannot be tested yet. Its key is still saved, and it still rents numbers. A Custom provider can be tested only if its schema declares a balance call.
Choose a number type#
You choose the pool on each task, under Number type. On a Walmart CA gen task, switch on SMS mode. A box opens with SMS provider and Number type. In Add sms mode, Number type sits below SMS provider *.
Because the pool belongs to the task, one saved NoServer key can serve several pools. You do not need a second record with the same key.
The list comes from the provider's own catalogue. NoServer lists its Walmart pools with live prices.
| NoServer pool | Price per code | Notes |
|---|---|---|
WalmartVOIP | $0.20 | VoIP numbers |
WalmartVOIPRental | $0.40 | VoIP, rental |
WalmartPublic | $0.60 | Best numbers |
StakedWalmart | $0.60 |
If AETHER cannot read a provider's catalogue, the list shows AETHER's built-in entries for that provider. It never shows another provider's pools.
Leave Number type empty#
An empty Number type means the task does not pin a pool. AETHER uses the service saved on the provider record instead. If there is none, it uses the module's built-in default, such as WalmartVOIP for NoServer.
You can leave it empty only for a provider AETHER has no list for, such as Hero SMS or a Custom schema without a catalogue. The list then shows one provider default entry. For NoServer, WealthSMS, 5sim, Secure.io and SMSPVA, the list always holds a real pool.
AETHER's built-in Secure.io list, shown when the live catalogue cannot be read, includes Any. It is a real pool, not the same as an empty Number type.
Edit All cannot clear a pool. A blank Number type means leave unchanged, so every task keeps its pool. Edit All changes the provider and the pool only when you pick a value in those pickers. Editing a group's proxy list leaves its SMS settings as they are.
Spending checks#
Creating tasks runs no balance check and asks for no confirmation. Use Test to check your balance before a large run.
When a task with SMS mode starts, AETHER checks that the picked provider has a key. Without one, the task stops with SMS KEY MISSING. Nothing is spent and no email is used.
During an SMS mode signup, the task rents a number and waits 45 seconds for the code. A number that gets no code is refunded, and the task rotates to a fresh one. It tries up to six numbers per address.
After the text code, Walmart can also ask for an email code. A Walmart CA gen task has no OTP inbox, so that signup stops there. By then the number has already delivered its code.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| STOPPED : SMS KEY MISSING | The provider picked on the task has no API key. The task stops before it starts. |
| WAITING FOR SMS | A number is rented and the task is waiting for the code. |
| NO SMS RECEIVED | That number got no code in 45 seconds. It is refunded and the task rotates. |
| ROTATING NUMBER | The task is handing the number back and renting a fresh one. |
| NUMBER OOS | The provider has no numbers in this pool right now. |
| SMS BALANCE EMPTY | The provider reports an empty balance. Top it up, then start the task again. |
| SMS SOLD OUT | In Add sms mode, the provider has no numbers. Nothing is rented and the account is untouched. |
Add-SMS requirements#
The Add sms mode needs three things. The form marks all three as required.
- An account group of accounts that already exist, as
email:passwordwith the storefront password. - An SMS provider, with the Number type set for the attach flow.
- An OTP inbox. The task signs in with an email code before it can attach a number.
The task first looks for the provider record it was created with. If that record is gone, it uses another saved record for the same provider, with that record's key. If none exists, the task stops and the log reads No SMS provider record matches this task's selection. Check the provider under Settings → SMS, then create the task again.
